Holocaust Remembrance Day

Yom HaShoah, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, is an annual day of commemoration honoring the six million Jews and millions of other victims murdered during the Holocaust, as well as the resilience and courage of survivors. It is observed each year on the 27th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, which in 2026 falls from the evening of April 13 through the evening of April 14. It is a time for learning, remembrance, and reaffirming our shared commitment to human dignity and standing against hatred.

This powerful film, directed by Sara Taksler, tells the story of her grandfather, a Holocaust survivor whose love of music helped sustain him through unimaginable hardship. Taksler is an Emmy Award–winning journalist and filmmaker, formerly a senior producer at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, who now focuses on deeply personal documentary storytelling that preserves family histories and amplifies survivor voices. Sara Taksler will be joining us for the screening and will be available for a Q&A right after the film.

We hope you will join us for this meaningful evening of remembrance, reflection, and community.
