This is Dr. Rosetta Treece, Superintendent of Schools. We are still experiencing substantial icing and hazardous roadways in the area due to the low temperatures and sleet. To ensure the safety of our students, drivers, and staff, there will be a 2-hour delayed opening tomorrow, January 17. The YMCA will also have a 2-hour delayed opening. This should allow for some melting and daylight for better visibility and safer passage. We thank our municipalities, facilities crew, and first responders for their diligence and monitoring throughout the day. We also thank you for your understanding and support. Please be safe.
