Hopewell Valley continues to move in a paperless direction in its home-school communications, launching the Virtual Backpack in 2009 to replace its weekly dispatches of flyers, notices and other information of interest to parents and guardians.

An online clearinghouse of information, the Virtual Backpack carries all of the notices, flyers, principals’ newsletters and other materials that formerly came home in the Wednesday folders of elementary students.

Parents of middle and high school students can now find online many of the letters and required paperwork, such as athletic participation forms, that have traditionally been mailed home. The Virtual Backpack page is organized by school and includes postings from the athletics and pupil services offices.

Virtual Backpack can be accessed by clicking on a specific school on the right of this page or by visiting any school’s website and clicking on the Virtual Backpack link on its home page. Contents will be added on an ongoing basis.
