Hopewell Elementary School receives BASF Science Education Grant of $5,000

We are excited to announce that Hopewell Elementary School has been chosen as a recipient of the 2017 BASF Science Education Grant of $5,000. The grant, submitted by Hopewell Elementary Teacher Helen Corveleyn, was one of numerous grants submitted and received accolades from grant officials stating: “We were impressed with your proposal, A Sustainable, Green Community, and your efforts to foster students’ interest in the sciences.” Proposals submitted are reviewed by an internal science advisory committee composed of BASF scientists and business leaders.

The Hopewell Valley Regional School District will have an early dismissal on Friday, December 22.
Schools are closed December 25 - January 1. All schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

HVRSD Adopts Required Lunch Payment Policy

As per the requirement of the US Department of Agriculture, The Hopewell Valley Board of Education was required to develop and approve a policy related to student unpaid meal charges. The district policy was developed on the tenets that no student should ever go without lunch or feel marginalized due to financial need. For those families who cannot afford lunch, one is provided to their child either for free or at a reduced rate depending on his or her level of need. <Click on the title for the full story>

REMINDER: HVRSD will be closed on Thursday and Friday

The Hopewell Valley Regional School District will be closed on Thursday, November 10 for the NJEA convention and Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. District Offices are open on Thursday and closed on Friday.
