HVCHS Fall Play Picnic Wins Numerous Awards

It’s been an incredible run this awards season for Hopewell Valley Central High School’s 2017 fall play, Picnic. Three very memorable performances, including a matinee for Hopewell Valley senior citizens, were presented last November in the HVCHS Performing Arts Center.

EcoWarriors Recognized by the Board of Education

The district partnered with the Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space and their Executive Director, Lisa Wolff to recognize students who embody our district mission.  In addition to receiving certificates and EcoWarrior t-shirts, Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space (FoHVOS) will plant a tree in honor of each of the six EcoWarrior winners.

Important Mental Health Program on May 10

Last January, over 500 individuals responded to the “Call to Action” sounded by the school superintendents of Mercer County.  The turnout was overwhelming and demonstrated the critical need for supports and services for our school-aged children.

Bear Tavern Students Receive Proclamation

On February 26, Bear Tavern alumni along with their teacher, Mrs. Virtucio, received a proclamation from the New Jersey Senate acknowledging their efforts to support Rev. Caldwell and his wife who were turned away from the Mount Airy Lodge on their honeymoon in 1957, due to the color of their skin. Thanks New Jersey Senator Turner!
