Important Note From Dr. Smith About Student Mental Health

Dear Hopewell Valley Families,

We have students who have been hospitalized and students who struggle everyday due to mental health issues.  We have a very strong support system through our counseling program and our community resources, but we can do more by connecting our community and removing the stigma surrounding mental health.

In an effort to bring this important issue to light and provide support and resources for families, I have joined together with the Superintendents of Mercer County to raise a Call to Action.  On Tuesday, January 9, representatives from the Traumatic Loss Coalition will present a program at Rider University in the Student Center.  The presentation will take place from 7PM - 9PM.  This program will serve as a first step in raising a countywide focus on mental health for our students.  I have included a co-authored letter that was recently shared with the media.  Please share with anyone you feel could benefit from this resource.
