HVRSD SYSTEM TEST on Feb 25 @ 4:00PM

Last fall, I wrote to you regarding our efforts to improve the safety and security of our students and staff.  Last December we detailed our efforts in our annual safety presentation. A video from this presentation is available here.  As we continue to improve our district communication, we are planning to conduct a system-wide test of our emergency notification system next week.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 4:00 pm, we will send a test phone call, email and text message to all of the phone numbers and email addresses we have in our OnCourse system.  Please review your OnCourse account to ensure we have the right contact information for your family.  Here is a resource from our website with instructions on how to verify/update contact information as well as ensure you receive emergency text messages.  If you experience any problems trying to access your OnCourse account, please email us at Registrar@hvrsd.org or call 737-4000 ext. 2304.

Please Note:

In the event of an actual emergency, you will be notified immediately via phone, email and text via our alert system.  A follow-up communication will be as soon as possible with specific details regarding the event. In the event of an actual emergency, please understand the following district safety guidelines:

  • Do not come to the school and/or try to enter or pick up your child; all doors will be locked and monitored by emergency staff.
  • Do not call the school or district offices - district phones need to stay open for emergency communication.
  • Communication will be through emails, calls and texts from the district.
  • An evacuation and reunification process is established and will be shared if needed.

In closing, I would like to remind you of our “Hope and Help” Tip Line, monitored 24/7 for students, staff and parents to share any concerns, either mental health or safety, that may impact our students and/or staff:  609-737-4000 x 8477 (TIPS) / Email:  tips@hvrsd.org

You have my commitment that we will continue to work hard to ensure that we are doing all that we can to keep our schools and students as safe as possible.
